We certainly had an amazing summer with an awesome team! I’m so thankful for each and every team member and the way God used them in my life.

Here are some pictures of some of the fun times we had in the last two weeks: dinner and games with the Sawyers (Faith Baptist Church) and a Mets game.

Our team has the privilege of staying at Faith Baptist Church in Queens this week–the church that Bro. Lowery started many years ago. We’re working not only with Faith but also with 2 other young churches while we are in the area.

On Monday and Tuesday, we worked with Pastor Taala at Bible Baptist Church in Jackson Heights passing out Gospels of John and Romans, street preaching, and knocking on doors. A young family on deputation for a future ministry in Staten Island joined us for the afternoon and made balloon animals for the children who passed by. Their 1-year-old also helped pass out Bibles!

On July 22, Calvary Baptist Church held their annual Fun Fest, a community outreach that allows them to get to know people in the community and share the gospel with the families and individuals who come. We spent the week preparing for event–which included building a mini golf course–as well as doing meetings in the parks with kids. The gospel was given to about 60-70 kids and parents through the park ministries, then to about 100 people at the Fun Fest. Pray that the seeds of God’s Word that were planted will continue to grow.

This week, we’re working with Pastor Sager at Grace Baptist Church in Long Island. We’ll be helping out with their VBS in the evenings and spending time in the days witnessing and inviting people to the VBS meetings. Their VBS is for kids and teens from 3-18 years old. Pray that many people come, that they receive Christ, and that they become a part of the church.

We enjoyed our week with Pastor Steve Christopher at Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn. Our main project was running their VBS each evening–it was so much fun!  The VBS had an Old Western theme, and our team worked together really well. We had from 7-19 kids each night. Some came from the church and neighborhood, others came from a sister church, and we even had one girl who came with her dad four out of the five nights because of a flyer we gave them. We also had one boy receive assurance of his salvation. Praise God for a good week!

We have been playing games with the children and teens at Lennon Park this past week. The team is working to establish good relationships with the kids as well as inviting them out to Day Camp and the Teen Olympics.

After a fun night at the fireworks, we all wanted to stop at Dunkin Donuts on the way home. We were so disappointed when we got there and it was closed. After we got back to the church, we all went to the kitchen to scrounge around for snacks…and the table was filled with Dunkin Donuts, bagels and muffins. One of the teens from Hudson View Baptist Church, who works at Dunkin Donuts brought them for us! What a special treat, at just the right time!

On the 4th of July, the girls were able to spend some relaxing time together getting pedicures!
